I had the honer and the blessing to write this poem for a eulogy of one of my Hospice patients.

Save The Last Dance For Me

We met as teenagers, when puppy love was so serious and our lives were so simple. We walked through the garden, and ran through the meadow, and I said, save the last dance for me.

As marrige came upon us, our togeatherness traded places with work, as you were running here, and I was going there, I once in awhile stopped to say, save the last dance for me.

Children have came, and were more hectic than ever. Along with work, we have basketball, football, cheerleading, school functions, and doctors appointments to attend, but I still stop to say, save the last dance for me.

So college is over, and the children are grown with children of their own. The house seems so big, or maybe were just to small. Hectic schdueles are all but gone, except for the medicine we take and the doctors that we still visit. But I look at you one more time and say, please save the last dance for me.

So now here I stand on a cold Winters day, with the warmth of Angels by my side. In a split second, in another place looking down from above, and with all my love I say to you, I SHALL SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR YOU.
