: hi ken, my son age 28 took his own life on jan 16,2010. His name is dustin , I cant tell you how i,ve made it this far, but i have. Im still so lost without him I miss him so much.Ive been consumed with worry about him is he ok? is he on the otherside? I despertly need him to forgive himself. I pray (out loud)for him every day what else can i do to help him and myself?

Thank you for posting on Reaching For Joy and you have my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your son. Let me say that your son has already forgiven himself as this happens as soon as we cross to the Other Side. He is continuing his homework assignment on the Other Side and is totally pain free in not only a physical sense but mainly an emotional sense. Its with the passing of a loved one that we are left a homework assignment to do as they become the teachers and we are the pupils. There is no way you should ever get over the passing of your son, but with time you will learn to adjust to his passing. Just the mere fact that you posted on Reaching For Joy goes to show me that you are reaching out and thats a huge part of adjustment. Dustin would want you to celebrate his life and in time hopefully you can do just that. Dustin is doing very well on the Other Side were he is surrounded and embraced by love, joy, and happiness.
